20 Min Chocolate Banofee Pie Recipe (V+GF)

 Maybe you have never had a Banofee pie. Banofee is a combination of the word banana and toffee. So this is a quick and easy pie recipe with banana and toffee with the addition of chocolate. This dessert is decadent and super delicious, no one would 100 percent know that it is vegan or gluten free. plus it is easy and fast to make.

Ingredients for Crust

  • 6 medjool dates

  • 4 tablespoons vegan butter or coconut oil

  • 1 tsp salt

  • 1 ½ almond or oat flour

  • 1 ½ cup of oats

  • ½ cup chopped almonds

  • ¼ tsp cinnamon

 

Method for crust

Melt butter in a non stick pan or pot on medium heat then add deseeded dates. Stir to break up dates before adding almond/oat flour then chopped almonds, salt, and cinnamon. Mix to combine cook on medium to low heat for about 5-6 mins stirring well to prevent any burning.

 

Let cool before adding to a spring form 9 ½ inch pan. Press down to form a even crust. Set aside.

 

Ingredients for filling

  • 1.5 cups coconut sugar

  • ¾ almond butter

  • 4 smashed bananas

  • ½ cup full fat coconut milk

  • 1 tsp vanilla

Topping

Top with coconut whip cream or shredded grated chocolate

 

Combine coconut sugar and coconut milk in a saucepan cook on medium 4-5 mins heat till melted then add almond butter, bananas, vanilla, and mix well to combine.  Pour mixture into the spring form on top of crust.

 

Transfer to freezer for up to 2-3  hours until well chilled. Top your pie with your favorite whipped topping, chocolate, or bananas and enjoy and serve chilled.
